1. Planting: Provide full sun exposure for a minimum of 6 hours each day. Soil quality plays a crucial role in the health of your rose. It's beneficial to amend it with organic materials. Adding compost, gypsum, or other organic matter can improve soil structure, enhance drainage, and promote healthy root development. 

If your garden is located in an area that is prone to flooding or excessive moisture, consider planting your rose in a raised bed. A raised bed not only improves drainage but also helps prevent water from pooling around the roots, which can lead to root rot and other issues. Since this is a climbing rose, adding a trellis for support or planting it near fences and other structures is recommended.

2. Watering: Water plants thoroughly, especially during hot summer months. Allow the soil's top inch to dry out slightly between watering sessions.

3. Fertilizing: We recommend a fertilizer with slightly higher phosphorus content, applied multiple times in the spring, once a month in the summer, and with one last application in early fall. For the easiest care, we suggest using a rose and systemic mix.

4. Pruning: Peggy Martins benefit from light pruning, though not as much as hybrid tea roses. After the main blooming in spring, you can tidy them up to enhance their shape and encourage more blooms in the fall.
