Scarlet Prince Peach Tree
Enjoy sweet, juicy peaches earlier in the season with the Scarlet Prince Peach Tree—self-pollinating, fast-growing, and ideal for warm climates!
1. Planting: Choose a location with well-draining soil and plenty of sunlight—your Scarlet Prince Peach Tree will thrive in full sun, soaking up 6+ hours of light each day. It’s adaptable to a variety of soil types, as long as drainage is good.
Dig a hole that’s twice as wide as the tree’s root ball and just as deep. Place the tree in the hole, fill in with soil, and water thoroughly to eliminate air pockets. Finish by adding a thick layer of mulch around the base to help retain moisture, but keep mulch a few inches away from the trunk to prevent rot.
2. Watering: Water deeply after planting to settle the roots. During the first few years, you might need to water weekly during the hottest months. Once established, water as needed during the growing season - if the surrounding soil is dry about 2 inches down, it's time to water your tree.
3. Fertilizing: After the second year, add a nitrogen-based fertilizer in the late spring or early summer.
4. Pruning: Remove dead and damaged shoots and branches in late winter or early spring after the threat of a harsh freeze has passed. You can also remove any shoots at the bottom of the tree that do not appear to be producing.
